Terms of Service

The terms of dealing with this house.

Last updated August 2026

These terms govern purchases from havnhausco.com, operated by HavnHaus LLC, Portland, Oregon. Placing an order means accepting them.

Orders

An order is an offer to buy. It is accepted when we dispatch it, or — for made-to-order work — when we confirm the quote in writing. We may decline an order, and if we do we refund in full and say why.

Pricing and errors

Prices are in US dollars and exclude duties and import taxes on international orders. If a price is listed in obvious error, we will contact you before charging rather than silently cancelling or silently charging the correct amount.

Made-to-order and commissioned work

Commissions are quoted individually. Work begins only after you approve a written quote and a proof at final engraving scale. Once work has begun, commissions are not cancellable, because the material has been cut and the artwork cannot be resold.

You confirm you have the right to use any artwork, crest, mark, or text you send us. We will decline work that appears to infringe someone else’s trademark or a protected insignia.

Returns and repairs

The returns window and its two exceptions are set out in full on the Returns page and form part of these terms. Repairs of manufacturing faults are covered separately under The Maker’s Mark and have no time limit.

Description of goods

These are materials that change. Brass darkens, leather softens and marks, and oak deepens in colour. Photographs show new pieces. Variation in grain, hide, and patina is inherent to the material and is not a defect.

Delivery and risk

Risk passes on delivery, not on dispatch. If a carrier loses or damages a parcel, that is ours to resolve, not yours. Delivery estimates are estimates.

Intellectual property

The HavnHaus name, the house mark, site text, and photography belong to HavnHaus LLC. Artwork you supply for a commission remains yours.

Liability

We are liable for faults in what we make. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our liability is limited to the price paid for the piece in question. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, United States.

Changes

Terms may change. The version that applies to your order is the one published when the order was placed.

Questions

Ask before you buy.

If any term here is unclear, we would rather explain it now.
