Privacy Policy

What we collect, and what we do not.

Last updated August 2026

HavnHaus LLC operates havnhausco.com. This policy describes what personal information we collect, why, and what happens to it. It is written to be read rather than to be defensible.

What we collect

When you place an order: your name, email address, shipping and billing address, and phone number if you provide one. Payment card details are entered directly with our payment processor and are never transmitted to or stored on our servers.

When you write to us: your name, email address, and the contents of your message, including any artwork you send for a commission.

When you join the correspondence list: your email address only.

Automatically: standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested) and functional cookies required for the cart and checkout to work. We do not run advertising trackers, and we do not sell or share data with advertisers.

Why we collect it

To fulfil orders, to answer messages, to send the correspondence list if you asked for it, and to meet tax and accounting obligations. That is the complete list. We do not build customer profiles and we do not use your data to target advertising anywhere.

Who else sees it

Only the processors required to run the shop: our web host, our payment processor, our shipping carriers, and our email provider. Each receives the minimum needed to do its job. None of them are permitted to use your data for their own purposes.

How long we keep it

Order records for seven years, because tax law requires it. Correspondence for three years, because a repair enquiry about a five-year-old object is easier to resolve with the original thread. Correspondence-list emails until you unsubscribe.

Commission artwork

Artwork you send for a commission is used only to produce your commission. We do not add it to a portfolio, reuse it for another customer, or publish it without asking you first and in writing.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it — except where we are legally required to retain order records. Write to us and we will action it rather than sending you to a form.

Cookies

Functional cookies for the cart, checkout, and login sessions. No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Blocking functional cookies in your browser will break the cart, but nothing else on the site requires them.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the change is dated at the top of the page. We do not make quiet revisions.
